Day 0 - 1

Depart US/Fly overnight to Milan/ Transfer to Turin. Upon your arrival in Turinyou will be met by a "La Contadina" representative who will assist you with your transfer to Alba. Dinner will be served in Alba at a fantantic local restaurant.

Day 2

Your tour leader will meet you at the hotel for breakfast and take you on a tour of the castles of the Barolo region. After lunch a sightseeing tour of the city of Alba will follow. Known as "the city of 100 towers, Alba is a magical and elegant medieval jewel. Time to relax and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3

Breakfast at the hotel in Alba and free time to explore the city. Rendezvous in the afternoon for a special visit to the Pianpolvere winery. This visit will include the grape harvest and transportation to the winery. You will get to experience the complete stalk removal and pressing. You will learn about the alcoholic fermentation, the aging and bottling of the wine. Wine tasting will conclude our unique experience at Pianpolvere. The day will end with a visit of the lovely town of Monforte and a fabulous dinner.

Day 4

Breakfast at the hotel in Alba and a stroll downtown for some shopping and picture taking. Get ready to cook with great chefs and fabulous staff. Today you will discover the roots of local foods and wine with an expert hotel school chef. Learn the secrets of flavors, ingredients, and the magical ways of combining them to create the greatest dishes of the Langhe and Roero regions. Dinner will follow.

Day 5

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the magical city of Turin (Torino). Accommodation in a lovely historical hotel downtown and free time to explore the neoclassical wonders and fancy boulevards of what was once the capital of Italy. Dinner and evening stroll.

Day 6

Breakfast at the hotel and visit of the Egyptian museum (second only to the Cairo museum). It was founded in 1824 by Carlo Felice, king of Sardenia. This museum is considered one of the biggest Egyptian museums of the world. Lunch at a typical restaurant of Turin and time to stroll, shop and be enchanted by history. Rendezvous with your tour leader for a famous chocolate drink in the historic district and dinner.

Day 7

Time to say goodbye and arrivederci to this splendid region. I know you will come back! Transfer to the Milan/Torino airport.
