Ciao a tutii, how are you?
This past May I was invited to be the witness at my friend’s wedding in a small town called Bossolasco, in the Piedmont region. What a marvelous experience. The wedding was great, but what made my experience extra-ordinary was the area I visited. When you think you have seen everything, you discover the most incredible surprises. The place I visited and love is called “Le Langhe” just south of Torino near the city of Alba.
Wandering around the area, I’ve been able to visit the great wine-growing hills of Barolo, Barbaresco and the hills of the Moscato wine. What an incredible culture and knowledge preserved and handed down from father to son.
I’ve met kind, friendly, endearing people and admired their simple and joyful way of life. Piedmont with its rolling hills is a region of charm and enchantment, keep it in mind while planning your next Italian holiday.
Following the wedding I headed to Umbria, to lead one of my favorite tours: “Italy for the Soul”. An enlightening experience. Twelve ladies nestled in the warm and cozy hills of Spoleto. Need I say more? Glorious food, hiking, river rafting, spas, cultural activities and an unbelievable bonding among total strangers... We will do it again in March!
We at la Contadina are also happy to announce the purchase of an apartment in the historic center of Spoleto. We will soon have it available for rent.
A presto cari amici,
Giuliana
