Who we are.
Giuliana
Founder, Artist & Tour Guide
La Contadina is a company resulting from two great passions that Giuliana, the founder, has nourished since a very young age: Traveling and Italian Ceramics.
Giuliana was born and raised in Torino, in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. She came to the United States for her university studies. She graduated in International Relations and French literature and later completed her graduate studies in foreign language teaching at the University of Utah. She is currently teaching for the department of languages and literature and is the Director of the Italian study abroad program at the University of Utah.
Italy is indeed Giuliana's favorite destination. She has led numerous tours to Italy and the surrounding areas. She studied travel management while growing up in Torino, and operated "Pronto Italia" while living in Park City, Utah. It was her love for art, history and people which lead her to become a tour director, and her insights and passion for her homeland will enhance your experience on one of her tours.

Marybeth
Tour Guide Marybeth is an avid
outdoor enthusiast with years of experience in hiking, backpacking,
fly-fishing, skiing, and bicycling, all of which are popular
outdoor activities in Italy. She's been from Canada to Mexico
and from east coast to west pursuing her passion of the
outdoors.
Having been fluent in French as a teen made learning
Italian relatively easy for Marybeth, and in recent years,
she's made several trips to Italy to strengthen her
language skills and to become familiar with the culture
and customs of Italy. Her enthusiastic nature and solid
language skills make her a hit with the native Italians.
Let Marybeth guide you on an outdoor adventure of a lifetime
in the Veneto and Dolomite regions of Italy.

Gianluca and Daniela
Umbria Tour Guides
Danieala and Gianluca were born in Spoleto
and operate as Tour Guides for the enchanting region
of Umbria. They fell in love with this region early in life
and love to introduce it to our guests.
Daniela graduated as a Tour Operator and
Guide from the prestegious tourism school of "Alberghiero
di Spoleto".
Gianluca worked for many years as a virgin (extra virgin,
of course) olive oil broker. He has traveled extensively
around the Mediteranean region in search of the perfect
olive oil.
Together, they created a fresh pasta shop
and spent 9 years learning traditional secrets
to perfect the art of handmade pasta. All of this experience has
been combined to create a wonderful team of tour professionals.
